So the murder rate in London is so bad that the Mayor wants to ban knives.
I have a suggestion. Allow concealed carry of guns. Knife murders WILL go down.
I'm not sure what his position is on the explosion of acid attacks.
What is your position on acid attacks? Do you believe acid attacks will go down if we encourage the concealed carry of acid? If not, why do you believe acid attacks are different to stabbing and shooting?
I don't think it's obvious whether banning knives or guns, or allowing or encouraging people to carry them will lead to an increase or decrease in violence and deaths. It seems to me to be an empirical question. If there are more weapons around, there are more people who could potentially initiate violence. If people are thinking rationally they will be less likely to initiate violence, as there will be a greater chance of retaliation. A small number of criminally minded people who aren't thinking rationally could outweigh the benefits of the deterrent effect of lots of people with concealed weapons. Another factor is the how skilled the criminals and good guys are in the use of their weapons and the asymmetric information of the proactive criminal (planner?) and reactive good guy. A confident and skilled criminal may be able to elude the good guys. A trigger happy good guy may suspect other good guys are criminals. If he acts on it he thereby becomes a criminal.
British Home Secretary Sajid Javid has revealed how he fell victim to a ruthless moped gang in London just months before he was tasked with cleaning up the country’s street crime. In the wake of a number of high profile attacks involving criminals on mopeds, the Conservative Party politician has spoken out about the time he was mugged by thieves outside a London train station. “It happened in a flash. I was walking out of Euston station and reached for my phone to call a taxi. It was brand new. Before I knew what was happening, it had gone,” Javid told The Sun on Sunday.

The Home Secretary Sajid Javid has announced £1.38 million to strengthen the police’s response to violent and gang-related online content.
Yep, never allow the subjects to defend themselves, even from thugs. (they might get the idea to stand up to guvmint some day!) Crimes involving mopeds or motorcycles have garnered a lot of media attention, following recent high profile deaths and muggings. Last week two teenagers stabbing a youth worker to death during a four-hour spree of violence in a borough of London. Nathan Gilmaney and Troy Thomas were found guilty of murdering Abdul Samad in October 2017, after they had pursued him on a moped in an attempt to snatch his phone. In an incident in June, comedian Michael McIntyre had a £15,000 ($19,900) watch taken from his wrist after two thieves on a moped cornered him as he left his car in Hampstead.
The Metropolitan Police have issued a warning about moped crimes, telling people to be extra vigilant around train stations, shopping centers or concert venues.
“If you need to call or use your phone on the street, look out for anyone on a bike or a moped near you,” the police guideline states. “Going hands-free can prevent a thief from snatching your phone out of your hand.”
If you have Royal connections, you can carry a knive.
Princess Meghan's cannabis farmer nephew reportedly tried to take a knife into a Windsor club, since Trump said London is a “warzone.”
“I just bought it because Donald Trump said London was like a warzone,” he reportedly told another partygoer. “I had it for protection.”
Clearly, "important people" can have protection in UK/London. Just not normal-folk.

And evidently if you listen to Trump, you believe London is a warzone and carry knives into London clubs haha.
The Royals aren't the smartest bunch anyway. Not much in the way of education. Clearly.
North Rhine-Westphalia’s (NRW) Minister of the Interior wants to ban knives ‘as far as possible’. Herbert Reul, the state’s Minister announced the measures after numerous stabbing incidents, Tag 24 reports.
“Wherever you can, you should ban the use of knives,” Reul tells the Rheinische Post. “We already have more than ten incidents with knives every day in NRW.”
A knife attack in Lünen, a bloody murder in Viersen, there are stabbing incidents throughout the state. They are also becoming a dangerous problem for the police in NRW.
Interior Minister Raul now wants to take action against knives. For the first time, there will be a weapons ban at Dortmund’s main station this weekend, due to increasing violence.

Why do they need some archaic law to ban them?
Just declare the Public Order Act, and throw whomever you want in jail.
That's UK for you.
London is muslim.
Does he want to ban cars too? Or do bollards suffice?

Maybe people living in London can tell you a bit more about the situation than biased news media and Donald fucking Trump.
I've lived in London all my life. The first reply nails it. It's a socio-economic issue and caused by years of austerity, growing wealth inequality and lowering social mobility.
People love to hate on Muslims because of racism/xenophobia but they're not the problem. Actually the rest of us could learn from them in several respects. They give far more to charity, they believe a woman is worth more than just looks, have tighter and stronger families and marriages, and when their parents get ill they live with them instead of sticking them in a home to rot until they die.
We all have cultural strengths and weaknesses and in London we are enriched by sharing and learning. Multiculturalism is a scary word for those in single race counties and states, and those who have grown up in those areas.. but in reality it's made London such a better place to live compared to 30 years ago. It's not perfect, but go to Clacton and other UKIP strongholds and you'll see the difference.
