This post is hard to read through. Stick to posting about how much you hate everything about running.
#1 - Barclay's security
-I tour for a living. I've been through Barclay's plenty of times, and the security is not that tight. The 2nd in charge of security wears a purple suit jacket and alligator skinned shoes and walks around with his head up his a * $.
The last tour I was there with was a back to back (two nights of shows), and one of our staff walked into that same loading dock area to find one of the security guards rummaging through the artist's merchandise that is for sale.
90% of the security staff is made up of low paid employees who don't care at all, mixed in with a few elderly people that you can talk your way past aggressively.
#2 - It's not staged
Why would the UFC want this staged? As a result, 3 fights were canceled from the card drastically effecting the interest of the fight card. This will surely have a MAJOR effect on PPV sales. Something you all know nothing about, because you guys b**** about paying $29 for a monthly membership to FloTrack (which has pretty poor content, I agree, but what are our options).
#3 - MMA is sustainable
MMA is the fastest growing sport in history. MMA has the largest gate in NYC and Las Vegas of all time. It's owned by WME. It's not going anywhere.
#4 - Running fans are similar to MMA fans
95% of running fans are hobby joggers that know nothing, but the other 5% have a different understanding of the sport and appreciation for it that isn't money motivated. MMA is the exact same way. 15 years ago, MMA fighters would kill to have made what a midlevel US distance runner is making right now. A lot of these guys study aspects like Brazilian Ju Jitsu, which takes years and years of dedication while avoiding injury. Similar to running.
