Rain will suck in Hopkinton waiting for the start.
Rain during the race wouldn't be bad.
It's a 7 day forecast. They never get it right. It might move through faster and we get Tuesday's weather.
Agreed.
What a bunch of Downers man! You guys have no idea what the wind will be like on race day. I've ran Boston multiple times, it's rarely accurate a week out! Great temps and you're whining already. Please stay away from bridges and sharp items for the next 7 days.
Still watching? What's your analysis? Accuweather has thunderstorm on Monday.
We're locked into a bad forecast. When's it going to change? We need Tuesday to become Monday.

I've seen it dozens of times before. Patience grasshopper, it'll end up very decent weather...wait for it.
5 days out. Still looking at rain and a headwind. Certainly not ideal but also not terrible. Hopefully that storm will move on thru before the race. Here’s the lastest:
TWC: 40/56, rain 80%, ESE 20 mph
Accuweather: 39/56, rain 80% SSE 12 mph
Use weather.gov - all data no bullshit.
Definitely looks 50s, showery, and damp/humid for the race. Seems like an Oregon kind of day. Advantage, Rupp?
Reading the scientific discussion it seems like there is a lot of uncertainty about the timing of the current "Sunday night/monday" storm. We still arent into a reliable 5 day forecast until tomorrow, so Im holding out hope that the storm moves out early monday morning leaving us with WSW winds and low 40s temps. Any weather guys care to weigh in on the likelihood of that?
There will definitely be some headwinds out there, but if this weather holds it should be mostly a crosswind. Overall not bad, as long as there's not heavy rain.

Nope, Rupp doesn't run in the rain.

Being a person who actually lives in new england, the storm forecasts have been Starting on Sunday and ENDING on tuesday will 100% be present on Monday. Good luck.

It's a sure thing now? I thought you're whether was fickle.
This close it’s a done deal. The weather is fickle. The forecasts move but don’t fluctuate widely this late. It snowed 6 days ago. It will probably be beautiful later next week. And it’s gonna suck Monday. Lol. That’s called fickle. Have fun!

If by cancel you mean decided to not travel many miles from out of town to get to Boston then, yes, I decided to cancel.
Running in the rain is not my cup of tea.

Were you registered? If I cancel now, I lose too much money. Can't say I didn't consider it.

Why did LRC write this article the DAY before the marathon last year? 16 W wind forecast, didn't happen and the conditions for 2017 sucked.

now we're talking. that's the kind of attitude I'd expect from grown men and women. if you're afraid of the rain, better stop breathing, cause life's dangerous.
I unfortunately was registered.
I hope you run as I took a spot from somebody who wanted to run.
I was going to drive into Boston and get a hotel in the suburbs at the last minute.
The only money lost was the registration fee which I will be able to earn back by not taking
a vacation day Monday and Tuesday.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
