What is a petition? Thats an Appeal....
I was hoping they would come around but not expecting it. So did the 800 medal ceremony happen already? They are doing the W1500 one now.

I dunno. I still keep finding myself laughing at the Steve Ovett rolling over in his grave post.
Um, ever hear of the ghost of Steve Scott?

My call to Seb clearly did the trick. Lol.
rules are rules, without discipline anarchy rules. god save the queen.
the DQ should stick, in fact, they should DQ the entire 800 final field as seen in the 400 heats, and award gold silver and bronze to the fastest non-finalists. to be perfectly fair and consistent with precedent IAAF logic. admit it, it takes a lot of balls to DQ people left right and center. admit it takes much greater talent to spot microscopic infractions, than to say, train 10 years and run a 326 1500m.
long live the IAAF weinerheads.
good point. but to be perfectly fair, all the brits should be refused visas for the next world championships, at least...
A little background information:
Starting with the World Indoor Championships in Portland 2016, the IAAF International Technical Officials (ITOs) are appointed as all* of the Referees positions for the all the World Championships (World Juniors, Indoors and Outdoors) & the Olympic Games. This includes appointing an individual referee for all of the field events.
Rationale: 1. This provides uniform officiating. 2. by having an individual referee for each field event, decisions can be made immediately.
In addition, one of the ITOs is appointed as the Video Referee. He/she has nearly two dozen live feeds (and recordings) that's a combination of TV and independent contracted camera feeds specifically designed to observe key angles of the competition.
This referee has the power to DQ .
Of course a DQ can come from one of the Referees on the field of play as well.
The safe guard is the - Jury that is composed of at least one ITO (not one of the appointed competition referees) as well as members of the IAAF Council. The Jury has a non voting member secretary who is also one of the world's experts in the rules.
It should be noted that teams have the opportunity to review the tape before making a protest/appeal....total transparency!
*If a country hosting the championships have any ITOs, they may serve as referees.
I'm sure the Chinese would olbige

Reinstated. Stop being idiots.
A Spaniard who deserved Gold in the 400 was DQd and two undeserving Americans got promoted to the podium.
Stop being idiots? The fact that he was reinstated just confirms that it was a bad call.
I didn't say it wasn't a bad call.
I said you lot are being idiots by claiming the championships are "rigged by the corrupt Brits".
Which you still are.
According to the source of all knowledge, Wikipedia, Bronze Age Britain was an era of British history that spanned from c. 2500 until c. 800 BC.
With the initial DQ of 2nd-place finisher Windle and elevation of Elliot Giles to 3rd, those officials had delusions of Britain returning to the Bronze Age!
The reinstatement of Windle as the silver medalist briefly returns Britain to the Age of Reason (1685-1815).
+100
Agreed. The IAAF are making the decisions, not the 'Brits', and half of the people who've run at these championships have been disqualified so I don't think it's some scheme to gain Britain medals.
Thank you! Information from someone who knows the rules and procedures (who is American as it happens).
why did the Spaniard get DQ'd? I watched the replay and saw nothing.

Well, to be fair they slung CJ Ujah out too.
Come on.
Ujah was on his second step when the gun went. His reaction time was MINUS .285. So about a 3 / 10 break. Not even close. And he still was 'surprised.
A stupid false start.

The brits don't see it as corruption. Its just in their nature. They are martinets when it comes to officialdom. They should stay away from England for big meets. Pomp ass es

That's what makes it hilarious. It's brilliant and it works in any sport with any living legend. A seemingly bad call in basketball you could say, "Michael Jordan would be rolling in his grave." Gretzky for hockey and Wayne Rooney for football.
Impressive 2nd place finish considering that we was boxed in for almost the entire race. He somehow broke out of the enclosure in the last ~30 meters.
