What are you talking about? Had the fastest 1600 leg in the race. Very selfless runner.

That was my thought. If they had a better 800m runner, they likely would've gotten top 3.

Maggard just missed winning USATF XC Nationals by 1 second. Dude is definitely making some money professionally. Kudos to Maggs and Gulden. Good things going on in Logan.
They did have that 800 runner. He decided to run the 800 1 hour before the DMR. His DMR 800 spilt was 4 seconds slower than his open 800. Wanted to be all American in the open. Finished 10th. All four legs would have been top 2 and they would have beaten VTech. VTech class act though.

Guessing you don't know the sport or economics very well. Definitely isn't making great money by getting 2nd one time without a sponsor, bonuses and salary coming in. There are literally ultra runners who make more money than him annually.
