This is not this kid's fault. Hopefully, this type of situation will force Texas to adopt the NCAA rules on this matter.

Yeah, it's absolutely this kid's fault.
The look on that ref's face says it all.

I'm trying to understand your reasoning here. Mack asked to wrestle in the boys' event but cannot due to Texas high school athletics rules. Should Mack be denied the chance to wrestle at all? Is that a better outcome?

-No one forced him to get a sex change
-No one forced him to be a wrestler

I'm pretty sure he only has one look.

Yes because he/she/xe is a PED cheat

Thanks for the response. If I am understanding you correctly, you are suggesting that rather than be allowed to compete in the boys' division, a person who is born female and transitions to male should not be allowed to compete at all?

Yes because he/she/xe is a PED cheat
But those PEDs are legal in the boys' division!

A - the NCAA has resolved the PED issue for transgenders a long time ago
B - this wrestler is probably more of a guy than 80% of the male posters on this board.

This kid made certain decisions and those decisions have consequences. Right now this person is competing on an unequal basis and there's no one else to blame for that.

Okay, I can see your point. I don't think it's fair to say "the kid bears no fault for this happening", but I do think it's fair to say, "the current system has some shortcomings that can lead to suboptimal results". Cheers.

He is a senior, so he will be able to compete against the men in the NCAA system next year. I assume that he is good enough to compete in the NCAA (maybe I'm wrong).
Hopefully, Texas fixes their rules soon.
