Rhabdo affects the kidneys, wtf are you talking about?
Seems a little early for those kinds of sessions, David. Are you shooting for the WR this year?
Seriously mate? wrote:

Name the specific molecule that 'affects the kidneys.' Specifically, the breakdown of what tissues causes its release into the bloodstream and lodging in the proximal tubules of the nephrons? Many, if not most, pathologic conditions involve multiple organ systems. Cheers mate :)
Are you taking any statins?
No statins. No medications at all. Just had a very hard (and stupid) week of running including 3 track workouts.
I know a few people who've gotten a case of the rabdo. Too much eccentric load on dehydrated muscles. Two of them were athletes on the same team, the other was my headstrong aunt that suddenly got into crossfit. My aunt had a rough time for a few months and had to pretty much quit all exercise but is now fully recovered about a year afterwards. One of my teammates tried to ease back into full training over a few weeks, and he was never as good as he was before the injury. The second teammate heeded the coach's caution and took her time over months to come back and went on to the Olympics.

Very interesting account. Thank you so much for sharing. It seems caution should rule the day with such things.
Pain is unchanged and much worse than regular muscle soreness. It has been 5 days since I ran, and I have been largely bedridden. This is hell.
Uncle rhabdo sez, "See a doctor immediately"
You need to get your blood tested for kidney function.
Not kidding. Go now.
