Too far. I’m flattered somebody is trolling under my name though. (Cough kyle masterson cough)
Shouldn't be? Side note, do conversions count on a sub 4?
I have followed this guy since high school!! Big inspiration for me keep it up David!
Bad game too easy. I win indoor mile again lawl
Crazy improvement. Can't wait to see things in the future!
Anyone know how to run the steeple?
I do
I do
On a seperate note does anyone else think its BS that Adam's team is constantly changing and full of foreigners?

Don't act like you are in the same league as Ribich.
What was ribich’s previous 3000m pb. They have “improved” the tfrrs site, so you can’t get good data on it anymore.

If you've known, or followed Mike Johnson the head coach at WOU, you would know that he has taken a number of underdeveloped HS runners to similar levels throughout his career. Not every single year does he roll out a world beater, but every now and again, and this should be no surprise.
Kinda makes you wonder how/why he went from University of Washington's head coach to D2/WOU/Monmouth. It's a real head scratcher.

Because there is no damn money in coaching at substantially any college program. Make more money turning $10 favors at truck stops

OK but 4:09 is irrelevant and 3:58 is relevant... no 1 carez

No, 2:03 to 3:58 SHOULD be a surprise any way you slice it.
I agree. running 2:03 and 4:27 indicates about 56-57s 400m ability, and absolutely no faster than 54s. Traditionally, we have assumed that speed over 200-400 meters cannot be improved substantially, no matter what, yet this guys managed to do it. There's no way you can run a mile in under 4:00 without having at least 52s 400 ability, and most can run under 50s. The fact that he was able to improve his time over 400 meters by at least 3-4 seconds after the age of 18 is astounding. Top that off with terrific speed endurance training and you have a great miler.
This gives me hope to run some semblance of decent times later in life.
You are making a big assumption that he wasn't running a 52s quarter in HS. We had a several 53-54s guys that were running 2:02/2:03 and they were focusing on the 800m . And most people improve their 400m times in college if they actually run it.
Obviously this is a great improvement. How much of it is from undertraining in HS versus great coaching now is impossible to say. Pretty much all of these guys it turns out were doing things like 25mpw in HS and not running over the summer (and sometimes winter). Makes you wonder how many guys like them are out there who just quit. If every school ran an elite program, how many zillion 4:10 milers would be be cranking out every year.

4:09 is good, but 3:58 is on another other level. Like maybe another planet even
WOU seems to be a middle-distance program. They are especially deep in the women's 800. Distance is decent, but not spectacular.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Guys between age of 45 and 55 do you think about death or does it seem far away
