Just a legit response here. You should be able to run sub 10 just off 60-70 miles per week and no workouts. But tips I would give. 1- get rid of long run and replace with a run that is faster than your regular runs. 2- 400 repeats at mile pace with 400 jog 3- 800 repeats at 2:30 with 3 mi rest 4- cut mileage to 40-50 mpw

Got my base miles in winter of sophomore year and broke it at my first meet.
I had trained all winter long before sophomore year track. I couldnt wait for my first few races.
I ran 4:43 for the mile on on a 160yd, 11 laps to the mile indoor track. The following Friday I ran 9:50.25 to break 10 minutes in the 2-Mile, this time on a 176yd, 10 laps to the mile indoor track.
How did I break 10:00 in the 3200? I ran a eight consecutive laps that averaged a little under 75 seconds per lap.
It's been 5 years....I wonder if he broke 10:00?

Don't focus on time goals, focus on competitive goals.

1a. everyone who beat you
1b. everyone you beat.
2a. Your goal is to beat everyone who previously beat you
2b. Your goal is to keep everyone you've beaten in their effing place.
