In my workouts (30 min tempo @6:30-40, 5x900 cruise intervals @6:15 and the like), I usually feel off/worn out. However, changing nothing, the next day on an easy day I can crank out sub 7's comfortably all day long. I feel super strong and not tired. I give my workouts a hard effort but not all out. Basically this equates to me running the majority of my mileage in the 6:xx range which does not seem worthwhile. I know people are going to say "take your easy days easy"... and I do, I take them really easy. It's just as if I wished how I felt was reversed form workout to easy days.
Also, I'm in high school, and I typically get 7 hours of sleep on weekdays and 10 on weekends. I know I need more than 7 but is it still possible to recover and make gains on such little sleep? Thanks all.
If it helps, PRs of 4:50 and 17:50 set a couple months back, I feel like I could destroy those now
