Not sure who is entered but I'm sure Rupp will get whooped by some Army/WCAP/ADP guys
Doubt it. Rupp's going to mow the lawn with those Army/WCAP/ADP guys, just like he always does. I can only assume you are making such a statement with regards to Rupp's ability on grass, and not with regards to his speed, overall ability, or relative accomplishments. I'm not sure where this narrative that Rupp is bad a cross comes from, he won the NCAAs and just doesn't really race on the grass. This course will not be a technical mountain run, and it isn't technical by XC standards.
Anyways this is great news. Cross is the best and more elites should be a target for more elites, but I understand why it isn't.
A guy like Chelimo would smash Rupp right now. Might have been close in 2012, but with the marathon focus it would be pretty surprising if Rupp showed 5k/10k sharpness, and given that it's Florida this is likely to be more or less a grass track.
Rupp should perform well, but I don't think he will be good enough to win against our current top 5000/10000 track guys.
