I just ran a marathon on January 14th and am registered to run a half marathon on March 4th. My thinking was that I could use the fitness gained in training for the marathon to go for a PR in the half marathon. But between the weeks tapering for the marathon, the time needed to recover from the marathon, and the week or so tapering for the half marathon, it's unclear whether I will have done enough running in the 10 weeks leading up to the half marathon to be in a position to PR. Any tips on what I can do to maximize my chances for a PR? (Waiting until later in the spring isn't an option since I'll be training for the MS 150 and have work commitments, and a summer/early fall race isn't an option because it's too damn hot in my part of the country).
