Based solely on scenery, I give another vote to Chattanooga.
Runner-up is Atlanta.

Why not hold it in Toronto? World class city. Flat. Great downtown. Good weather past March. ;)
I guess Atlanta would be the best choice. I stayed a weekend in Chattanooga and was amazed at how much of a depressing dump that place was.

I vote no to Florida, might be too hot and humid in march.
Those are exactly the characteristics you would want in your Trials host city.

Leaving the actual cities aside, the Chattanooga region is probably the most scenic of the 4 cities and if you like Civil War history, etc. there's a lot to see if you are trying to attract visitors.
Chattanooga would be best venue. Curious to see if big names/money wins out like it did for L.A....
I'm sure USATF has the athlete's best interests :P
Why are all the options located in $hithole states?
Austin
Chattanooga hosted the Half Ironman World Championships last year.
Chattanooga also hosted the USA Cycling Championship from 2014-2016 (or thereabouts).
They should have stayed in Houston in 2016 OT. They did a great job there.
Max Seigel took over and chose LA. Way too hot. Messed everything up.
Where exactly are you gathering that another city might be added to the mix?
I like that it appears some new cities are jumping in.

I can think of one pretty obvious reason...

We just got the following press release from USATF.
Update: Re-reading the release, we think it's possible another city could be added to the mix but right now it looks like it will be held in one of those 4 cities.

Nice to see Trump chime in...

So you are blaming Max for the weather?
Also, not sure it messed up anything at all. The folks who made the team were pretty much among the people expected to make it.
It will go to who pays the most. Nothing else matters to the BOD/USATF.

I have a strong feeling that there are very few people that actually enjoy your company.

The selection committee voted unanimously to have the OT in Houston. Max overruled this and chose LA.
You don't go to a location where there is the potential for warm weather, that would be stupid, just like you.
Dathan Ritzenhein dropped out of the race. He was one of the favorites. The drop out rate was high, due to high temps.

Are you aware of the 1980 US OT Marathon course?

LA was warm, and those three did pretty well in Rio, I'd say...
I think Orlando would identify the best three for the actual race in 2020. Orlando's January can be cold, but it's more likely to be Toyko-type weather -- 70s and fairly humid. I ran Disney with temps in the low 80s by the end of the race, and that race started at 5:30 -- if they start a race at 9 or 10 AM in Orlando, it's very likely to be warmish and humid towards the end.
Also, in no way was Ritz one of the favorites at the last trials. And he didn't even drop out because of the weather.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
