I was in an accident on Black Fridaywhere I was hit from behind by another driver. I was stopped and she hit me at a high rate of speed, above 50 MPH.
I suffered some back pain and ligament damage in the accident and I’ve been going to the chiropractor 4 days a week since then.
My car was only 4 months old and sustained $7,000 worth of damage.
Her insurance company has already assumed liability and are covering my rental car and medical costs as well as the costs I’d repairing my car.
My question is what should I expect above and beyond for pain and suffering and any other inconvenience? Obviously there’s depreciation to my vehicle since it’s been in an accident and I’m still seeing the chiropractor, although we are scaling back to twice a week.
Should I rely on my insurance company to negotiate a settlement (Nationwide) or should I get an attorney who would obviously take a chunk of any settlement?
