Jordan Hasay should leave Salazar behind.

I'm not worried about the doping. That never entered my mine as a reason for anyone to leave NOP.

My reasons are that Al Sal subscribes to the theories of the 1970s, not to those of Arthur Lydiard who coached into the mid-2000s.

Chances are he will wear Hasay out before she succeeds. It's sad really.

It's not so much that she's drop-dead gorgeous (she isn't), it's that she has blond hair, symmetrical features (nothing that stands out as eye-catchingly ugly or eye-catchingly beautiful), has All-American appeal, is really fast, smiles a lot, gives cheerful interviews and has been famous in American running for a decade.

Sometimes recognizability goes further than physical beauty alone.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but that has nothing to do with the question. I just think NOP is wasting her talent.

She has already succeeded. Hasay appears to be doing fine where she is.

Galen Rupp won silver in the 2012 Olympics, he then ran a 3:52.11 mile the next year. Then genius Salazar puts Rupp in the Marathon and he wins bronze in 2016. How is that progress?

Mo Farah's best mile is 3:56.49. Why wasn't Rupp running the 5 and 10 in the Olympics? In fact he was getting fast enough to go 1500 and 5000. But Salazar will get his chances to keep screwing people up as Oregon is so highly regarded in the country.

Why ~~~ indeed~~~ should Hasay stay with Salazar???

Agree that Hasay has underperformed over shorter distances in her career.

HOWEVER.

What are you talking about including Rupp in this conversation?

He has run 3:50 for an indoor mile, 7:30 for 3000, and 1:50 for 800, which for someone who never had a chance of medaling below 5000m outdoors is not too unimpressive.

There was a great thread a few weeks back about Rupp's speed development, and it is safe to say that whether it was PEDs or a change in training, his speed improved substantially after doing NOP.

I pray that Jordan's parents estate survived the Thomas Fire in L.A.
