Why are LRC regulars so dumb? wrote:
He is rightfully upset his coach, who is already making good money (is Mitchell on the Nike payroll?), would throw him under the bus to score a quick $125k (assuming a split of the $250k with Wagner).
In the same sentence you assert that Mitchell is making good money, you admit that you don't even know who he works for. And you go on to express other uncertainties, all while making assertions based on your uncertain knowledge. Obviously, no STEM degree for you.
And you call LRC regulars dumb? Maybe so but that doesn't mean you have try to kill irony. Irony already takes a vicious beating every time Trump says Hillary can't stop talking about him.[/quote]

I shouldn't have to point this out, but this is Letsrun, home of degenerates, so I think I should.
It is possible to suspect that Gatlin might be doping and yet NOT boo at him like a jack@ss every time he wins a race. These are not mutually exclusive states of being.

Was Gatlin ever mentioned in the WADA report that had listed Evan Jager ,as "likely doping"?

No sprinters were even listed on leaked documents. Sprinters are either clean & green these days or they have a way of flying under the radar of the ABP and not arousing any suspicion. ?
if someone was willing to pay me $250,000 for something that was going to cost me $2,500 i'd talk endless amounts of crap to close the deal.
also, i'd be highly suspicious of a random stranger with $250,000 asking for dope and say whatever idiotic thing came into my head just to illustrate how ridiculous the situation was.

No, they don't. Nehemiah left that agency years ago.

God, I hate groupthink. I'm not a fan of Gatlin's or his past record, but this kind of school yard bullying where the mob scapegoats and piles on the unpopular guy because everybody is doing it so they can get away with it makes my blood boil. I will always root for the persecuted underdog.
only or mostly black people get treated like this
It’s not that people think Jager is dirty. It’s that arguments about Rupp’s improvement are also true about Solinsky, ritz, and Jager. Their speed and PRs improved at the same age. So the Brojos should be clear about those points when making the case against Rupp. They should also acknowledge that some of these runners also used Dr Brown, testoboost, etc. just like Salazar. I would appreciate it if they spell all of that out or don’t just argue those points against Rupp. Also, citing Magness all the time is kind of odd. The guy participated in the whole thing, had a lot of his story questioned (and did not respond), and I think he also used some of the same medications as an athlete.
And this ferichs girl or so. Never does anything then smashes her pr by 20 seconds at the WC race

They don't? The IAAF ranked him as number 1 of the most likely dopers (worldwide!), which is actually comically short according to the Tubingen/Harvard/IAAF study that found over 40% to be drug cheats.
Hi explanation (altitude) does not sound very unique. If that were enough, everyone would be on that list. And then still one would wonder why he was the most suspicious one.
I think you are wrong. I think many believe the status of the doping report, Jager " likely doping" . They put together values that would conclude 'likely doping" , and Jager fit those values. All we have seen from the Yager defenders is, he is nice, well liked, speaks English, American, and non NOP .

When any clean-ish athlete goes to altitude, it changes blood values in a way that triggers a suspicious score. In the very unlikely scenario where an athlete gets tested, The athlete can then legitimately explain it away. Now you've got the perfect excuse to dope. It's a huge hole.

Except he was a kid in college at the time. More than likely did whatever the coaches/athletic department told him to and assumed he was ok.
Something is not sitting right with this story. As has been mentioned, nobody in their right mind is going to pay $250K for something that is only worth about 1% or less of that. Do you know of anyone who will pay a quarter million for a car that can be bought almost anywhere in the world for a couple grand?
Because this is so farfetched, it seems extremely unlikely Mitchell and Wagner would go along with someone suggesting this. It sounds like a setup or scam immediately. Why would they talk to a stranger who is acting extremely naive about something that is illegal?
I fully believe Gatlin's agent and coach are well-versed when it comes to cheating. Most pros talk to one another, so even if you aren't doing it you know about it when you've been in the sport long enough. Still, the way the conversation supposedly went seems farfetched.
It's also suspicious the way Gatlin acts shocked about Mitchell.
I don't really trust any part of this story. I don't trust the people who wrote the story. I don't trust Mitchell. I don't trust Wagner. And I don't trust Gatlin.
I doubt we'll ever know what really went down here. Either way that doesn't change the fact that there will always be some cheating with anything humans compete at, but place artificial rules upon that can't truly be enforced.
If you want people to stop cheating you have to take the rules away. There is no other way. There never has been and there never will be.

He was rightfully banned, as also made clear after his appeal (which only decreased the ban).
Don't start re-writing history for this double drug cheat, likely soon-to-be triple drug cheat.

I hope he's not likely a "soon-to-be triple drug cheat." That would ruin everthing for him since he's worked so hard this year winning gold at the WCs and beating Bolt. Listen to the press conference after WCs - a standup, sincere guy. Even after the doping question was made by one of the journalists, he didn't get defensive and answered the question very professionally. I hope there's nothing to this - it would be catastrophic for USATF. I think many fans would throw in the towel...for good this time.
