Hello, I got my first major injury (where I have to take off more than 1 week from running) at the end of November. I DO believe I have fracture my tibia, but am waiting 1-2 more weeks to get an x ray so it can be seen. I was coming off a nice summer and fall base at 6000ft (first time at altitude). I ran a half marathon mid November and got injured while coming back the week after, came on rather quickly, like hurting after runs with 2 runs.
Anywaysss, where to go from here? I've started taking calcium magnesium and vitamin d supplements. I also bought some casein protein and will be reevaluating my nutrition. I had lost 5 pounds and had some protein in my pee last doctor visit, so think some over training, lack of protein/fats, and a few sleepless nights gave contributed, though I am the cause as I ran on day 2 with existing prio pain -.-
Is it a good idea to do some low key races in late spring? I def want to do a 10k in July. I probably won't be running until Feb (I have a spin bike set up though), so I am tempted to only do some basic speed work, and basically just return to doing base/fundamental phase.
