I have not read through the whole thread, and this may have already been asked/answered, but it is a mystery why colleges are not knocking down the doors of some of the better high school distance coaches/programs in the country. Great Oak, Wayzata, Fayetteville Manlius, Loudoun Valley, Christian Brothers, etc. come to mind. These coaches are doing something right because some of them have shown sustainability and produce top-level teams every year. Granted, it is a leap to the college level, but managing a top level HS program can't be that much more difficult than a Div 3 program.
Are you kidding? How did the FM coaches do with their post collegiate group? The Stotan track Club? It was terrible.
These programs dominate the HS ranks because they out train everybody else, look at the GO training, they hammer those kids and they do very little after they leave, same with FM, especially the girls, nothing left. Same with CBA, just hammer the crap out of the kids. These top HS programs are good at attracting kids to the program, notice how many get prominent transfers. No magic.
