I realize this has probably been addressed before, but I couldn't find it: with so many track jobs listed and indoor seasons underway, how long does the search, interview, and hiring process usually take?

According to the 2017 thread that still hasn't completely died still, here is Matt Rogers' situation...
"He got fired for pressuring athletes into vegan-based eating disorders. That’s why their top woman transferred to North Carolina last year & their next top woman & first national qualifier a few weeks ago (not All-American) is transferring to New Mexico. Parents got involved threatening law-suits, etc."
Two threads for 2018?
Two threads for 2018?
Lawsuit for suggesting a diet? What is coaching becoming? This can’t be true whatsoever. Especially at a tiny irrelevant school like that

Just because a lawsuit was threatened, doesn't mean a lawsuit was warranted or had any merit. Sometimes an empty threat is enough to get ADs a little nervous.

It really depends on the school and job. Some schools that take Indoor track seriously will try and have a coach in place before January 1st. Other schools will wait until after the new year to complete all of the hiring, and then name their coach in mid to late January. The search, interview, and hiring process can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks, depending on the urgency of the coaching position.

It wasn’t just ”suggesting a diet.” It was putting strong pressure on all of his athletes to become vegan. So much so that some were diagnosed with eating disorders through the athletic department doctors & nutirionist. Repeated attempts by admin to convince him to stop over the years didn’t stop it. Again, that’s why Lauren Ogg (their top woman from a couple years ago) transferred to North Carolina. Verbatim out of her mouth. Not sure of Emily Martin’s reasoning but she’s out too - to New Mexico starting in January. Call BS if you want but the Creighton job is clearly open & Rogers hasn’t appeared anywhere...
Biggest news out of convention (for this thread anyway) was that the coaches voted to approve the addition of an additional coach per gender. So single gender programs would move up to 4 and mixed gender or combined programs move up to 8. It still hast to be cleared by the NCAA and then would be another year probably before it comes into play, but should create a lot more jobs.
Omaha can be too much too handle
Here are the volunteer coaching positions available right now:

•Volunteer Pole Vault Coach – Florida State University
•Volunteer Assistant Throws Coach – Indiana University East
•Volunteer Assistant Jumps/Vault Coach – University of Dallas
•Volunteer Sprints, Hurdles, Jumps and/or Throws – Tufts University
•Volunteer Distance Coach – New Mexico State University
•Volunteer Assistant Coach (Pole Vault) – University of New Haven

False, Cross Country passed but Track and Field did not so it didnt pass, both sports need to pass it since they share scholarships. Information comes from a long time D1 coach.

Yale Director of Operations/Assistant Coach
Creighton Head XC -men and women but no track program
Where did you see the Yale job posted? Not on their site, not on NCAA site.
Anyone hear anything about the Minot State job? Was there a lot of applications? Is a high quality job for the right person imo

Hey "Not True, Fake News". I believe your information from a long time D1 coach is incorrect. You're thinking of the scholarship proposal. In that case the cross country coaches voted to have more scholarships but track coaches did not. "Back from convention" is correct. Both cross country and track approved the proposal to add more coaches. So for the purposes of this thread, you should probably all start positioning yourself for the great coach grab of summer 2019.
Hearing that Samford Coach, McGregor, headed to Yale or Harvard. Not sure where he would go though.

Any insight to the salary at Creighton? Is it a formality posting and have someone in line for it?
Brojo's. Delete this thread. Let's just have one coaches thread going into the new year.
The other one is closing out 2017. This is for next year.
