You must not have ever had to explain and/or educate people about tech in a retail setting. You wouldn't believe how dumb/ignorant/lazy the average person is. It's much worse than working with children (which I have also done).
The link is interesting. For all but revenue sports, it indicates large supply and low demand.
Schools which don't have television contracts for their football and basketball teams still have other sports, so I don't buy that other sports depend on the revenue sports.

1) Any tech guy working in a Target store is probably sub par and didn’t measure up on the bell curve. The really good ones have their voice of juicy plumb jobs. Most tech guys Need to work on their communication skills so retail is probably a good place to hone those skills
2) They have a choice hen they accept those full rides....
