Mile and 3k was decent today. Lots of top times in the MIAC this year so far. Performer of the meet was Liban Jama! What a beast!
Carleton, wow!
4 guys under 15:30.

Yeah, Carleton is good.. RIP the dream
I think Mueller is the clear favorite in 3k and 5k right now unless Donson runs the 3k. Carleton is looking really good right now. Who can beat Mueller? I say nobody.
Wear da oles at fam?
Carleton has the potential to win the 800m, 1000m, mile, 3k, 5k, and DMR at conference. Has that ever happened before?...

Actually, the 600m is included in this, as well...
Is it okay for this thread to start seriously talking about Carleton winning MIACs this year? Because that seems like more of a possibility by the day.

St. Thomas' saving grace might only come from long and triple jump, and spamming the pentathlon. Their jumpers have bailed them out the last few years by taking 6 of the 8 scoring spots. They might only get 15 points in all of the running events combined... it's insane. Their sheer numbers in the field events have saved them recently.
The only reason I say Carleton may not win still is depth. A few years back Olaf nearly swept the top 4 spots in every distance event, and still couldn't pull it off. Carlton has the ability to win so many events...but St. Thomas will get 4-8 in jumps and pentathlon
I'm going to do my predictions in each running event.
This is what I think everyone will run at MIACs. Obviously I don't know for sure
60m: 1: Emmanuel Egbujor 2: Malachi Lossow 3: Ryan Miller
60H: 1: Taylor Rooney 2: Max Martin 3: Dylan Olson
200m: 1: Karl Olsen 2: Emmanuel Egbujor 3: Isaac Erikson
400m: 1: Carl Klamm 2: Isaac Erickson 3: Joey Cook-Gallardo
600m: 1: Carl Klamm 2: Joey Cook-Gallardo 3: Chris Mueller
800m: 1: Evan Hatton 2: Chris Mueller 3: Carl Kozlowski Dark Horse: Taylor Huffman
1000m: 1: Donson Cook-Gallardo 2: Evan Hatton 3: Ryley Sandberg Dark Horse: Austin O'Hare
Mile: 1: Donson Cook-Gallardo 2: Liban Jama 3: Keith Ketola Dark Horse: Ryley Sandberg
3000m: 1: Lucas Mueller 2: Keith Ketola 3: Thomas Lerdall Dark Horse: Paul Timm #PT4LIFE
5000m: 1:Lucas Muller 2: Matthew Wilkinson 3: Andrew Stumbo Dark Horse: Tris Dodge

Sure thing! Just need the 800-1000-Mile-DMR double-double from DCG and it's in the bag lol.
They MIGHT win 5 of these 7 races.

His brother could potentially win the 600m and 800m. DGC did the 1000m, mile, and DMR last year and was fine despite Coffey pushing him in every race. He could dog every one of these races and kick the last 300m and be fine, honestly
Plus, for outdoors he did run 4 races.
Day 1 was the 800m prelim and 4x800m
Day 2 was 800m final and 4x400m
Crazy thought: maybe instead of writing a million posts all saying the same thing about dcg we ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT THE EVENTS OTHER THAN DISTANCE FOR A CHANGE! It’s almost like none of you give a damn about the rest of your teammates unless they rock a pair of short shorts and are less than lucky with the ladies

We’ll throw some names out there, then! We just have to appreciate DGC while we can because that’s a special D3 talent.
Any good races this weekend? Or is everyone taking it easy until next week or even snowshoe?
Henschel spotting in the 3k
Impressive day for Mueller winning mile and putting up a solid 800

You want to talk about the long jump you go ahead.
I can't predict the 400-1000m races this year.
How many points these individuals score depends very much on what others do and what kind of emphasis they put on their individual races (many may run the DMR or 4x400 as well). In my opinion, their sweet spots are,
400: Supinksi, Pugh
600: Cook-Gallardo, Mueller
800: Krogman, Jewson, Madigan
1000: Hatton, Wachter, Kozlowski
However, every one of these guys can move up or down one event and score in that one as well. Some could even win 2 events.
Now, DCG is running one 800 or 1000 and that takes the win off the table. Probably running the 1000 to maximize Carleton's potential to sweep the distance events. Lucas Mueller has a fast enough mile to replace him in the DMR, giving DCG the Mile/DMR 800 day 1, 1000/4x400 day 2. That's very manageable for him.
Mile
I think Donson Cook-Gallardo, Lucas Mueller, Keith Ketola, Austin O'Hare, Karl Wachter, Liban Jama, Ezekiel Lelinga, and Alec Kirtley/Jack Henschel/StOlaf Rando will be the 8 scorers. I don't think it will be in that order though. I don't think anyone can catch the Carleton guys, but the next three positions are a toss-up, and it's possible that Ketola doesn't even run the mile this year.
3000
I think the scorers will be Lucas Mueller, Matthew Wilkinson, Keith Ketola , Paul Timm, Andrew Stumbo, Austin O'Hare, Thomas Lerdall, and Parker Rosenau.
5000
I think there's an opportunity here for a surprise winner. Mueller could win, but i think he'll go Mile/DMR Mile day one, because the 5k would ruin his mile in the DMR. Wilkinson has a shot, but so do the next few fastest guys who enter. Tactical races do not help Dodge and Meikle. If Carleton wants to sweep the distance events, this is where they have to push it early so that the St Olaf guys (or anyone else) can't just sit on Wilkinson for 4800m. He very may well have the talent to pull it off, I'm not saying he's a sitting duck, I just know that it can very hard to do all the work.
DMR
Carleton all the way. They just have to get the baton to either Mueller OR Cook-Gallardo NEAR the lead. The other fastest milers in the MIAC right now (Ketola, O'Hare) won't even run the event. A stacked St Thomas team could be quite fast, but will have at least 8 seconds to make up in the mile, which they will determine is not feasible and race for second.
