How many scholarships do you think they have exactly? Between McDonald, Hoare, Hardy, Gessner, Hirsch, Hacker, Jacobs, Snider, they surely can’t afford to bring in big scholarship guys every year?

While the Wisconsin Badgers fall, the DARK MOOSE rises
I was disappointed but not surprised Mick threw Finn Gessner under the bus in his post race interview. True freshman in first big ten race doesn't need to be called out. That and he gave credit to the guys coming back from injury which is fine except the team has been decimated by injuries most of the past 4 years. I'm sorry but that is on the coach. The Wisco brand is fading and needs a change in leadership. Jill Miller is the exception. Had been steadily rebuilding that program when she doesn't get undermined by Mick and his ego.

Extremely blessed to announce my verbal commitment to run for the University of Wisconsin-Madison!! @CoachG_Kennedy
I hope they make it to Nationals as a team. If not, then I hope that Ollie Hoare and Joe Hardy go together.
isn't this Belson guy a mid-distance runner?
Barely sub 17 at the Ridges isn't noteworthy when talking XC.
I think he's a good 800 recruit but if that's all you are in college, you are going to find that you better be sub 1:51 or you won't have a spot on the team very long.
Belson hasn't really improved at all during his high school career. He was one of the better freshmen in the state 3 years ago, but that was largely due to the fact that he started training and racing seriously as a 7th grader (maybe even earlier). To think this guy is going to be a contributor at the Big 10 level is somewhat laughable. I'd bet he's off the team within 2 years.
The Michigan state champ Shuaib Aljabaly has committed which is a solid pickup. Maybe he hasn't excelled on a national level yet, but he looks poised to do that in the coming weeks.
Any predictions on where the Badger men will place at regionals.
Maybe they will only send two men to nationals.
If McDonald had run at Conference, Wisco would have won by 20 points.
I predict they take 3rd. Only sure things right now are their 1-2 punch which should help in larger field. But a lot of question marks after that. Snider and Eidenschink just got healthy enough to go at B1G. Now they step up to 10K. Finn’s first 10K now and it’s a lot to count on him or Tyson.

There's a pattern. Mick recruits a ton of top level runners. Footlocker top tens, etc...
It seems like these guys are already pretty developed, and then Mick tries to run them harder. Then the run 24:5x and Mick disparages them. Says things like, "the upper classmen held their hands around the course" etc...
He seems like an a hole to me, and just uses up talent, pulls scholarships, and runs guys out of town.
and have noticed the same thing.
What happened to Carl Hirsch? He did very well for the Badgers and was funny as heck.
Regional Results
Both men and woman finish in third place.
Women are likely in, but I think the men needed to be top two with no points and nobody to push them in from behind. They battled, but just didn't have the depth to catch UM or MSU. Hardy and Hoare qualify individually, but 2nd time in 3 years men stay home as a team. Bombing their home meet did them in.
I think Mick should let Coach Jill Miller do the interviews for now on.
