One that gives my money back at the end 'cause she knows it was the best she'll ever have.

I’m honestly not sure why it’s illegal. If someone consents to sell their body for sex shouldn’t they have the right to do so?

Same thing with recreational drugs. Let adults make their own decisions.

Why have any ethical values? What’s the point of anything except pleasure?
Ummmm . . . there is a difference between considering something to be unethical and thinking that the government should step in and make it criminal.
But thanks for playing.

Perhaps it's not legal because they don't want men exploiting women (pimping) and making/taking money off their work. If a woman is independent and selling herself, that's fine. But some women are very weak, desperate and dumb, so pimps can take advantage of that and convince the woman to give him her money or half of it. Pimps also look for underage women to take advantage of, which makes things even more dangerous. The male pimps stealing money are the problem with prostitution.
I can't find it on the internet right now, but there is a book out there that makes a compelling argument for legalizing prostitution for the benefit of women who are sex workers. The book compared data from countries were prostitution is legal and regulated to countries where prostitution is illegal. Women sex workers make more money and are much safer in countries where prostitution is legal and regulated. Incidents of human trafficking are also far less in countries where prostitution is legal. Women who work as sex workers in countries where it is legal often report very positive outcomes from the time they spent as a sex workers. Women make a lot of money without spending a lot of time at work. They are able to pay their way through college or support a family without having any of the time management issues trying to balance full time low wage employment with family/school. By contrast, women who are sex workers in countries where it is illegal often have to rely on Johns or brothels for protection and are overworked and underpaid because they have no ability to control their employment.

This reminded me to look up SFH's story again. I didn't realize that the smoking gun published a bunch of reviews from her clients a few years ago. Let's just say this, all parties were satisfied. Can't say I see a crime going on.
I think Suzy's story could be the argument for both sides.
She was not victimized. She was not exploited.
She willingly engaged in the act and seemed happy doing it.
I assume she was discreet and did not draw negative attention to any establishments when she was with customers.
But she certainly did harm to her family and her kids have to be traumatized by this with the secret being out.
And even if she continued the secret some would say there were mental issues there.
Can a woman continue with good mental health if she ever engaged in prostitution?

In that case, perhaps we should shut down Hollywood as well.
And the modeling industry.
And the tech industry.
Oh hell, just shut everything down. There are always those predatory males lurking out there taking advantage of weak women.

1) People (including parents) make plenty of bad decisions that end up harming themselves and others. Doesn't make it a good idea to make actions between consenting adults illegal.
2) SFH had mental issues. Undoubtedly there are others like her. I guarantee there are VASTLY more women with mental issues that turn to alcohol and traumatize their kids by going that route than there would ever be via prostitution. So unless you are going to argue for prohibition (alcohol) I don't think this argument holds water.
3) There are plenty of women who work as prostitutes who do not have mental health issues and who are not being controlled/exploited by anyone. The money is VERY good. They can control who they interact with and how they interact with them. They are their own bosses...
4) Having it be illegal only makes it more dangerous for the women (reluctant to report abuse, exploitation, etc)
You realize that there was a prohibition of alcohol that was repealed because of the violence related to that prohibition.
These things are a trade off of one crime for another.
Same as marijuana.
And you could say the same for cocaine.
We would have less violent crime if cocaine was legal but not many want to make that leap.
And maybe it's about legislating morals as almost all laws do.
"There are plenty of women who work as prostitutes who do not have mental health issues"
I'll have to see your sources on this.
But go back to my post on how you would regulate this.
Where would the services take place and under what conditions?
you are autistic
Men, we all know we want prostitution
Don't really need it. Tinder is like having free hookers. Actually, hookers are better off than Tinder chicks because they get paid and aren't hurt when you never text them again. Tinder girls are way more hurt by me treating them like hookers than I imagine a real hooker would be.

I understand that already, in a number of American brothels, some clients are preferring to have sex with these modern very lifelike sex dolls in preference to sex with the real thing.
I venture in about 10 years time, sex dolls, (robots) will have become so perfect and also programmable to one’s desires - that the human prostitute will be out of business.

Ha, ha. The reason this country is so screwed up is because "adults" make their own decisions, without regard of what the ramifications might be.
Better ban working then since I have to do it for money.
Convincing argument. In fact maybe it should be a mandatory service program with a draft just like military service. All able bodied men and women must serve 2 years between ages of 18-24. That way you eliminate the economic disadvantaged being the only ones to serve.
Also age discrimination laws should be in place so old people can't be denied service.

Everyone is not taking this thread seriously and making jokes about it, you guys seriously need to consider his points and don’t just make fun of them.
Just click the single women in your area that pop up on all the websites, those are even better than class A prostitutes.
