Agree- Patsy's is pretty darn good. That said, I'm not a pizza connoisseur by any means.
It seems great minds think alike you will note their pizza is my second favorite to this day.
A slew of great memories of the hospitality Patsy and Carmella extended to me and the many people I introduced to their restaurant.
During the late 60s and 70s the room behind the rolling door was a favorite place for restaurant workers getting off at 2 or 3 AM looking for a meal and an adult beverage.
I'm most familiar with the one on the upper East side. Used to go there at least once per week when I lived in the neighborhood. Def miss that pizza. Nothing since has come close to that pie. They have great salads too.

The original 117th and 118th west side of First Ave is the one we are talking about not the franchise stores like 69th and First.

This list is WAY too skewed toward NYC and Chicago. It's a joke.
BTW best pizza I ever had was at a pub near West Chester, PA, and I've been to plenty of supposedly top joints in NY , Chicago, and other big cities.
There are probably thousands of better pizzas throughout small town USA than the ones on this list. What a waist of thyme.
completely agree, the list is bullcrap

When there is nothing good to eat in the house I reach for my daughters lunchables. Pizza
An English Muffin Pizza recipe from years ago called for Velveeta Cheese,
condensed tomato soup mixed together, spread on top of toasted English muffins and broiled.
Now that was fine eating!
Every other day on letsrun: MIAC or Ping sisters. I am surprised four pages and no Saint Paul, MN pizzerias? My two Saint Paul favorites are Cossetta's and Carbone's. Both Cossetta's and Carbone's belong on list.

These lists are subjective in terms of place and style. But I like that they did this because it gives me a list of places to try. Pizza is my favorite food. I've only been to two places on the list, Gino's East in Chicago and Lorenzo and Sons in Philadelphia. Gino's East is one of my all-time favorites. I thought Lorenzo and Sons was good but not on my list of top places. I enjoy Chicago style and thinner pizzas. Along with Gino's East my other favorites that stand out to me are:
Romeo y Julieta- East Hanover, NJ
Villagio's- Newberry, FL
HomeSlyce- Baltimore, MD
Barfly's- Baltimore, MD
New Jersey Pizza Co.- Flagstaff, AZ
I can't guarantee all of those places are still open but the Baltimore places were open as of March. I would love to hear other people's favorite places. I'm always on the lookout for good pizza.
Do you live in Baltimore? We should get a slyce. I love both Homeslyce and Barflys but haven't been to Barflys in forever. EMail me
