What's the best strategy for racing hills? It seems like there are 2 approaches-
(1) Surge up the hill and get it over with as quickly as possible.
(2) Slow down on the hill and run even effort. Reach the top of the hill no more fatigued than you were on the bottom. That way you haven't lost any energy for the remainder of the race.
For this example, say it's a hilly course similar to Central Park (for those familiar with it).
