Hey Mr. "obsever"... you're neither casual nor causal.
you say:
"[Wilson] tested positive in February 2017 on the day she ran an American Record. The drugs didn't help her?"
But the Deadspin story reported that Wilson was tested the week before her American 600 meter record and the result was negative.
I said that zeranol is an unavoidable component of the American food system, and you said:
"this is not supported by the evidence, as there aren't exactly hundreds of positive tests for zeronal in America. As a matter of fact, zero come to mind."
But in recent years, Mr. causal obsever...there have been many break downs in government oversight of the American food system, which have resulted numerous fatalities...
In 2003, 640 people in the United States contracted Hepatitus A from a shipment of contaminated green onions. 4 people died. In 2006, 205 people in the United States contracted E.coli poisoning from spinach grown in California, 3 people died...In 2015, 300 people in the states of California, Arizona, and Texas were infected with store-bought salmonella poisoning...3 individuals died.
Death...Mr. causal obsever...the obliteration of consciousness for numerous innocent individuals...tends to shoot holes in accounts of government oversight.
When you consider that the USDA uses a " random and targeted" approach to monitor zeranol levels, and when you consider that Trump's morbidly obese, unqualified, and homophobic pick to head the USDA, Sam Clovis, has no empirical background or experience to head the agency that would have overseen these issues, things become even less certain.
ultimately, you slander Wilson as a "proven doper," and in doing so, you put forth this version of events:
Wilson, a prodigy and world junior champion, who's been tested many, many times, and who's raced hard for years and displays a standard progression of incrementally dropping PR's, at some point last winter decided to dope...
she dosed herself with some heretofore unknown combination of drugs...because zeranol in and of itself is not a known or verified performance enhancer. It is PRESUMED to be an anabolic steroid, but by the logic of the CAS, even that is inadmissible.
your accusation boils down to this...
In the week Wilson decided to dope, she was caught, exposed, and revealed...and how probable is that...and logically, why would she do that that during a week she knew she would be tested? But nevermind reason--mr.causal obsever...what happened then was that the USATF let her off, right? and then later, when she set American records for the 800 and 600 and was drug-tested with no issues, there was some residual effect from that one illicit week of doping, that lingered and gave her strength, and yada, yada, yada!
In short, you're a nut-job.
your attack on Wilson reveals only irrational animosity, which is par-for-the-course on these boards...
I defend Wilson because of her great personal dignity. I don't know her, but I've seen her answer endlessly stupid questions after races, and I've seen her hammer the homestretch of many races, including last weekend, when she finally beat Niyonsaba (who may be intersex, also.) Your insistence on a delusional alternate reality is total LRC...it's faceless, anonymous, bile. You have your motive, your agenda, be it inexplicable animosity or the trans-intersex attack on fair sport for legitimate female athletes. Whatever...
