HAHA I have insanely skinny legs and calves. I think the thickest part of my quad is 20 inches. Girl at work said I had legs that make anorexic girls jealous...

"the lean wolf leads the pack"
"Man its the hungry wolf leads the pack"
" well I am hungry as a M***** F***** too"
I checked Athlinks, he's actually a little older than I realized - he's 33.

Don't get me started. Every time I come in the kitchen, RRR in the kitchen...
https://youtu.be/QWZ5Shp3A1sGood stuff, guys...wow, was I a hungry wolf today...cool (60F) and cloudy, and I went hog wild...15.13 in 1:45:11 for a 6:57 overall pace. I was 1:32:26 at 13.13 mark. Rolling up the mileage this week. Since the half this weekend, I have been exploding...10.5 on Wed. at an overall 6:52 pace. In both of these runs, I finished fast. Could not be happier :-) :-)
hey all, looking for some advice for a long run tomorrow. this weekend will be 4 weeks away from possibly running a marathon. I haven't had much of a build up until the past 4 weeks. I've been taking a down week in hopes of getting 2.5 more solid weeks after this before a 10 day taper.
Thinking about either a really easy 21ish tomorrow or a pretty light 3x3 @ MP, maybe totaling 15 for the run. Or open to other suggestions. 2 weeks ago did 20 with 10 @ "MP" and that was the first and only MP run so far I think? Last week was a casual-ish 25 miler, and next week is a half marathon (not going all out, thinking of either shooting for steady ~10 sec faster than goal MP or progression run picking it up every 3mi). Goal of this weekend is mostly to get up relatively unscathed and ready for the next couple of weeks.
I would do a cut-down progression for either 15 or 17. If you do not want to go too crazy, you could just finish at MP (the last 5 or 6?) or a little below. I just did this type of run this morning. Did 15 and transitioned to about MP a little past the halfway point, and then the last two miles were basically at threshold pace. Just let the run come to you. You body will tell you what to do.
Nothing like geting the body accustomed to finishing fast.
All the best to you...

Hope to see you there!
I'm really starting to think that one of the women I'm working with has a legit shot of making it at Chicago. 17:21 two weeks ago and ran 13 at goal pace (6:16) on a humid (but cloudy) 77 degree morning. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds.
I'm having a down week. Work got nuts and I fell behind on sleep and was never feeling quite right after that sore throats last weekend.
Did a hard workout Tuesday after taking Monday off and have decided to take today off, got 10 and 11 this weekend, and look at it as a recovery week in advance of a race two weeks from tomorrow.

Go for it!!! And when the time comes, make sure you have a good shrimp dinner the evening prior.
It's all about the shrimp dinner.
Another 8 easy this morning, few more tonight and I will be pushing 70miles for the week. Weekend runs of hopefully 30 tomorrow and 20 Sunday. This will be the biggest volume week I've ever run.
You need that shrimp dinner the morning of the damn race. I am curious if it was fried/broiled/boiled/scampi?
5k x 2 after a "large shrimp dinner" is just Epic.
My legs were dead as F this morning. I may have left 20-30seconds on Monday on the road yesterday .. although maybe not cause I needed the mental boost. I am prone to thinking toooo much.
