When you feel burned out, you might be surprised how rejuvenating it can be to take a period where you jog 4-5 miles a day instead of "training". Just go for a casual jog each day and learn to enjoy it again.
If you quit running, you have revoked your right to wear 2" split shorts.
(You can still wear 2" split shorts, but you're lying to yourself)...

Spend extra time sitting on couch and gain 30 pounds in a year, watch too much television; get depressed gain another 30 pounds; start having health issues; wife decides to sleep in separate bedrooms; more depression; gain another 30 pounds; more health issues; doctor says you need to lose wait suggests running.
