Will get to see what form he is now. Does he even beat the local, Langford?

What;s miraculous about recovering after 2 months? -
He also wasn't injured- he was run down and dealing with severe cramping due to the heat/exhaustion in SAC.
Prediction: 1:43.1 FTW -
Bad form. Dead last in Sopot today, 1.48 high in a 1.47 race. Clayton is done,
-
I mean, he is done for this year. Results here:

Don't know what kind of indication you'd get in this race. It's 63 degrees with an all-out rain... -

It indicates he got owned by a bunch of no-names. Donezo. -

Daniel Rowden of GB who came 5th (above Murphy) is 19 years old and ranked 7th in Britain this year. Not a pro.
This was not a good run for Murphy at all. -
Does he need the money that badly?
Just bag the season, let your body recover, and aim for next year. Murphy is going to have a short career if he's not careful. -
Looks like a 5th place or better puts Asbel Kiprop into the final
standings
1 Kipyegon Bett Kenya KEN 4 29.00
2 Nijel Amos Botswana BOT 4 24.00
3 Donavan Brazier United States USA 3 19.00
4 Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich Kenya KEN 4 16.00
5 Robert Kiptoo Biwott Kenya KEN 3 14.00
5 Adam Kszczot Poland POL 3 14.00
7 Brandon McBride Canada CAN 3 9.00
Kiprop has 6 points and is in the race
Kipketer and Lewandowski have 6 but are not in the line up.
long shots
if one of the no pointers (like Sowinski) wins outright--- 8 points and Kiprop is 8th they make the final .
Which brings up the question why are Kipketer and Lewandowski not in the race? -
OOPS 3 points for Kiprop and he is in the final so 6th or better ties him with or puts him ahead of McBride for the last two lanes (8 Qs)

Good question about Lewandowski (although he'll probably be in the 1500 DL final). But what has Kipketer even done this season besides suck compared to what he did last year? -
thanks Lewandowski with 9 points and in 9th place currently would be in the 1500 final.
-
That race indicates he's recovered from his hamstring injury and has lost some fitness. He's probably a little jetagged and lacking some confidence due to the injuring and lost training. However, he's going to get fit fast and his confidence will return. He's run 1:43 for 800m and 3:51 for the mile this year. He's a super talent! I'm glad he's back racing and I'm sure better races will follow. Go Murphy!

The guy likes to race. Let him enjoy it! It's his willingness to race that helped him bag that Olympic 800m medal.
