I had a foot injury that led to pain under the arch of my flat foot. The only solution was to provide enough lift in the front of the foot, to redistribute the pressure under my foot, to be limited to my heel and ball of my foot Which has led me to ask the question, why is it that most shoes are designed to have heels that are much higher than the front of the foot? Isn't it natural to have the foot be level? I have a very experienced pedorthist, But every orthotic he makes me for, doesn't take into account the fact that my shoes significantly raise the level of my heel (by over a 1/4" inch or more)., I have to go through a long process of getting the orthotic heel to be significantly shaved down. Because the pedorthist doesn't seem to comprehend the reason why I need a lot of contact with the front of my foot and the sole, in order reduce the impack on my heel. Am I the only person that has this problem? Any input would be greatly appreciated, or perhaps a better place to post my question. Thanks.
