The US is even now getting medals in distance running! You don't see Kenya getting medals in sprinting and field events. The US track and field team of the last few years is the most balanced athletics team ever.

Chelimo was born in Iten, Kenya and fastracked US citizenship through the US Army refugee Dan Browne program. Dont make me vomit please.
Best ever? Hm. In 1956 - for example - USA has won 15 of 24 mens events.

This!! Thank You!!
Both Evan Jager and Matthew Centrowitz are American. Centrowitz will be back in form before you know it.
Most balanced yes, that's what happens when you eliminate the competition
This was the cleanest WC ever.
And its only going to get cleaner.
Won't see Jamaicans, Africans, dopers or cheaters.
All of you starry eyed LRC trolls will come to realize, the early 2000's were the dirtiest ever.
Kenny B, Gebre .
Dirtiest runners ever to compete.
He has every right to come to the USA. Besides Chelimo like Lagat will make follow American runners faster.

You back when there was very limited African participation and Europe/Russia was still recovering from the war? I suppose you consider the US team from '84
its only competition. Or how about St. Louis when we often we were often half the field.
I don' think there is any question that this team and Rio are the most balanced (men/women - sprints/distance/field) that the US has ever produced in the modern era. It will be interesting to see if this continues as our mini-baby boom continues to slow and demographics become less favorable.

Maybe most balanced, but overall '84 was stronger, yes.
Well, yes you are, but let Russians compete and then we will see.
