That would be his median yes

There is always one idiot looking at everyone's PB in these championship "races"
A bit disappointing in that he was viewed as top dog going in.
But I think he performed up to his substantial capabilities and ran a good race.
Just got beat by a better runner...perhaps could have gotten a silver if he ran for the silver instead of going for the gold. But he did the right thing
Jager definitely could have done better with all the work he put in this year. But as he said in his interview, he went with his plan to lead and push the pace. I t could have been too early but he ran for the win and that is a respectable thing to do. Maybe his lack of racing could have played a role..
Either way, congrats Evan keep working hard and inspiring the young guys
I understand that there was the idea that he was the gold medal favorite and that bronze is thus going to be a disappointment.
But it's fair to say that he was the gold medal favorite under the assumption that Kipruto was not 100%. And since Kipruto clearly was very very close to top form, that's hardly an upset in hindsight. Losing to El Bakkali was a disappointment, but he also ran a very impressive race to push Kipruto all the way.
Basically I'm not at all convinced that it was a poor performance. It turns out it is HARD to be a world champion.

Jager managed 8:04 in a championship race. So he's 10 seconds outside his Championship PB. Is that better?
i don't understand his tactics. in any race situation i don't see him coming any worse than 3rd. so, to take the lead so early only risked 1st or 2nd. if he had've waited till 600-800m out and went then - would have been 2nd for sure and probably 1st.
but, like someone else said, nice to be disappointed with 3rd
Did anyone else notice the black KT tape down the back of Jager's right leg? They showed it when he was warming up/stretching before the start. I wonder if he had an issue with his hamstring, and if that played any role in his ability to finish up the race hard.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
