It is right that he compete after having run the qualifier, because it is excellent experience against real competition--not some farce of a Euro age group comp--and as his father said he's probably going to peak a lot earlier than his brothers, so he needs to get in the competitions when he can. But a World steeple race is not necessarily ideally suited to a fast time for him. Often the pace will be slow and then extremely fast, so that only the sub 8:15 runners can hang with the pace that leads to an 8:15 or 8:20 finish in the prelims (if that). Conditions could be good in London, especially in an evening race, but it could also be hot.
