It was courting disaster to allow him to try the triple, and I'd say that even if there weren't heats to run. What possible benefit could that have? He'll be lucky to avoid injury just from running all those races, not to mention the fall.

Is that another name for the indoor season?

FTFY
What's the point of saying FTFY when you say something that means exactly the same thing?

All three races will/were super slow. The races will not tire him.
I think that the point here was to work on his finishing speed and to learn to run in a pack, which he will need in the WC rounds..
Clearly his "pack" running still needs a bit of work.

He's not going to win anything in London. This is his only chance of winning any (semi-) significant medals this year. And on paper he should have been able to do so fairly comfortably.
So why not strike while the iron is hot? No matter how promising his future looks now there is never any guarantee that things will actually work out like that a few years down the road.

Is this kid going to Worlds since he hit the steeple standard?
Well it's a good thing he made the most of his prelim win. You never know what tomorrow holds.
The way he acted in the heat isnt a big surprise. His older brother (i think he has two but im thinking of the best one) is also an arrogant twat. One look at their outfits and you can already tell.
Plus, teenagers are not known for their modesty..
Or the other hand, he could have just been trying to pump up the crowd, to the benefit of everyone else in the race, but my above points still stand.

But we could all see this coming, but it is a good learning curve for him.

So did he run in the 5000m or was he too badly hurt? The 5000m final was supposed to be later the same day..
Jakob won the 5000m in a stroll in 14:41.
Also, a Brit took advantage of his fall in the 1500m to win - Jake Heyward.

Heyward believes he 'beat' Jakob. Hmmmm...

He took advantage of the fact that he was able to not fall over. How sneaky of him.

Looks like he won to me.

He actually showed a lot of character getting back up and giving it all to get back in that race, most people wouldn't even finish let alone go all out especially with two more races to go
Unless I'm seriously missing something, I don't see where he had a fall from which he had to "get back up." I see him stumble for a few steps at one point, but I don't see him fall.

I had trouble picking it up too.
The fall happens off camera somewhere between 350 and 300 to go when the camera switches angles from the finish line to the back stretch. With 400 to go he is positioned way outside just a little back of the leaders but when the view switches to the backstretch he isn't with the pack and then appears 15-20 yards back all by himself. Announcer clearly says Ingribetsen takes a tumble or something to that effect.

We've identified the problem.
