No 0.6 mile detour. I think they meant that irunfar was taking their splits that far in front of the 15.8 mile aid station.
That 16 miles of snow, almost all early on because that's the highest part of the course, meant that Walmsley's effort barely gained (3 min) on the CR splits early on, though it gained him a big lead. Once off the snow, his effort cut into the CR split substantially, though he's only held steady the last 5 miles.
