I am going on a cruise next week to Alaska, definitely running in the city and not going into the park.
Journalist in the story keeps referring to the attack as "apparently" by a bear. What?
The media doesn't want to offend the bear community now? What more evidence do you need? A written confession?
Same thing when talking about terrorists on leftist CNN, "possibly"..."allegedly" terrorists.

Wtf are you talking about...
Maybe you weren't reading very closely, but the journalist's 2 uses of apparently (in a 560 word article) are
1) referring to the runner's encounter of the bear while descending, as opposed to while still ascending the 1.5 mi. He could've been chased for a while - they don't know.
2) Same thing. "Had apparently made it to the halfway point" - they don't know exactly where he was when he sent the text, and for how long he was chased.
The author very clearly implies it is indisputably a bear. There is no instance of doubt when referring to the bear being the one who carried out the attack. Hell, the interviewees say they saw the bear still at the attack site and couldn't approach the body, and literally shot the bear in the face.
Please read more carefully before making a fool out of yourself and nastily using this tragic story to advance your petty politics.
