NAU. Done already.
Broadly wants no part of Sam in that mile.
For those looking for training info, there was a video somewhere before nxn where they talked about some of the workouts they did. Can't seem to find it now though.

Broadly?
Kinder, Avery, need I say more. Although its the parents probably shelling out the dough, as school districts, even the nice ones, throw all the money at the big three.
Good riddance to those guys. They can go coach on the club circuit where the playing field is wide open.
Don't public schools pay for coaches? Why would parents have to pay extra for a coach and if their child is hurt still have to pay? Obviously equipment (with runners at least), extras for uniforms, overnight trips, and all that crap comes from the parents wallet, but why would you pay a coach that is employeed by the school. Even if he's not a teacher, the school would still screen and hire and pay the coach, otherwise it would be a private club team. My high school's head coach only coached for the school. He worked in a running store full time and was taking classes to eventually become a teacher. If he volunteered for the job and than is forcing kids' parents to pay him, that's not really volunteering, now is it. If I had a kid in public school and the coach expected me to pay him seperately, I'd show him that I pay taxes and slap the shit out of him.
Definitely an issue with private coaching and public schools. Brentwood has admitted fault and liability. Several private coaches charged athletes while pretending to volunteer. Runners can run with the school coach in a school uniform or run on Guy Avery's private club. No more grey area there. They train hard and intense with Guy. Burnout is an issue. It's over now, with a letter from Brentwood High regarding the issue. As for the seniors that quit Guy this year, they are still training and entering college. I hope this clears the issue up.
There is a private coach in my area that is listed as a non-fac coach for one specific school. He then proceeds to charge his athletes for his private services, and takes athletes from wherever. If he is listed as a non fac coach for a school can he take money from those athletes, or athletes from other schools. If you're affiliated with one school (and probably getting paid), is that not double dipping and conflict of interest? Could you direct me that what TSSAA rules you are referring to in the previous post?
Is Brody to NAU really a done deal?

If Brentwood "admitted fault and liability" then what did they admit to, and what is the penalty? Is TSSAA involved?
Guy Avery charged parents when he signed a document that he would not. He controlled a public school team by charging the runners for a monthly fee, travel, and expenses. That is documented and can be obtained from the school districts public records. There were almost 1,000 emails over the last 6 years regarding Guy Avery at the county and his uncompliant practices. Multiple hearings with the school board and other county officials. If he is so good, why can't he form a program with runners across the state? Why is his private program filled with the runners from Brentwood High School? Because he controlled and manipulated the team for financial gain, which is against ALL public school policies and ethics. I hear he is being sued by some of the parents for restitution for fees paid over the last few years. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
TSSAA is an impotent organization that only charges fees and prolongs bureaucratic jobs for the lazy administrators. They have no authority, no policing ability, and no power to levy punishment. They suggest rules and charge us $7 a person to watch our kids play sports. That's all.
If you have a coach that is a volunteer or on staff, I am pretty sure that TSSAA and county rules would limit him or her from charging certain athletes for private training. Williamson county found that the volunteer coach was exploiting a " captive audience". The team. Wouldn't it be nice if you could pay the football coach for private QB training, then all of a sudden, your son is the starting QB? It's a classic conflict of interest, compounded by the fact it is in a public school, where all kids are supposed to be treated equally, regardless of money or wealth. This practice is clearly unethical, immoral, and uncompliant. Why can't the private coaches operate outside of the public school system and just charge a fee for supplemental coaching? Because they want to make bank AND control the school team. Not in Brentwood anymore.
Brodey Hasty is kind of a dumb name. They should change it to Llewellyn Marshmallow.
It’s about time the lid blew off of that pace. Everybody knows what a piece of crap situation that was. Winning at all costs.
This coach is like the Alberto Salazar of Middle TN (replace the doping allegations with financial allegations)
He has a tight nit group of really talented athletes and most people outside the group hate them and the coach but at the end of the day THEY PRODUCE RESULTS. Theres a couple that don't, but a large majority are striving under him. He makes these runners better.
He charges what he charges and he makes it very clear what's in the contract. If you don't like it, don't join the group. Plain and simple. I see nothing wrong with private trainers training public school athletes.
