Yes, well done mate! You'll get your life back, trust me and have more time than you ever realized. Calling and texting is enough, the rest is bloody overload!

I deleted all my social media about a week ago and it's been great. (Instagram, facebook, and snapchat). It was tough at first but keeps me off my phone and allows me to be more productive.
Here, here!! Poppy Seed.
The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. Now they feel the need to share it.
I turned 32 yesterday. I think the mass of young men lead fake lives with no real value except to get excited when they get a "like" on their lame photos and comments. They "always" feel the need to share it. I believe it's loud desperate insecurity, ever hear of it?

p.s. No matter how smart you think you are, someone is always more clever than you. Think about it, but not too hard, you'll need to save those emotions when you get 2 "likes" this weekend for taking 4th in your local 5k.

I also don't think posting on or reading Let's run is the same as facebook/instagram/twitter, etc
You see what you two are doing right here? That's exactly what social media is for. I wish that people like you would go use real social media sites so that LRC could actually be a running forum rather than an anything-goes-so-here-is-what-I'm-thinking-about-right-now forum.

Why am I getting an ad for "single muslims" in this thread lol. Pic of a brown woman in a hijab.

This message board is definitely social media.
So you are using the wrong method to ask this question.
You need to walk around and ask people or call them up.
Came here to say the same.
Not shocked that the dweebs on this board don't know the definition of social media.
31 years old and haven't used any form of social media in about 7-8 years. I think once you get to be slightly older it becomes extremely obvious what the entire charade behind social media is.
For the people that obsess over it (spending multiple hours per day on it), you delude yourself into thinking its about "keeping in touch" with friends/family, when it really is nothing more than a hyper-narcissistic means of self-promotion to make your life look more exciting and fulfilling than it really is.
Social media is for the bored, shallow, and insecure.
No, not quite the same thing. This is a forum and yes there's a big difference between this forum and---posting photos of yourself and opening a twitter account to post what you're doing at noon and that little Joey has a tummy ache. Star and Macdaddy, get a clue fellas, you failed and are obviously major Facebook contributors. I bought the stock at $23 when it went down and doubled my money, TWICE!!!, but I don't have a FB account and never will. I am 35 years old next month. Not super young, but not really old.

Loving all the sanctimonious wankstains getting on their high horse posting on a social media message board about how they're too good for social media.
No dickwad, you just too much of a moron to know what 'social media' actually means.
Sorry, Nancy, but you don't get to define what 'social media' is.According to the interweb, "Social media are interactive, internet-based applications. User-generated content, such as text posts or comments, digital photos or videos, and data generated through all online interactions, are the lifeblood of social media"Interactive, internet based? Check.User-generated content? Check.Photos and videos? Check.Online interactions? Check.Sounds like letsrun to me! But keep telling yourself whatever you need to... you sound like someone who would be really fun to hangout with :-)

Wouldn't that make it, by definition, not "quiet"?

Depends on the pronunciation.
Sorry girlie man, but you don't get to define anything. Go post that on your twitter account and maybe you'll get a hit. That should really get your little guy excited:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
Yep, got rid of that waste of time.
