Hunter's already run 3:38. Maton's 21 now. He's got a pr of 3:39.97. Fisher's run 3:42.85 and 13:30, though surely a lot faster to come in the right conditions.

Actually Maton ran a 3:38.xx something last year after the college season trying to quality for the trials (which he did). Though I see him being a better 5k runner. Dressel has also been running well in college. They have all been doing nicely though I think Fisher has performed the best so far.
Liquori was likely shaving daily by age 15. Ryun by 17.

Three of the five who have gone sub-4 in the last five years (Maton, Slagowski, Hunter) have been "old". All three should have been college freshman by normal standards. And there is, at this point, no evidence that any of these three individuals will have a significant career as a miler.
Fisher was normal age and looks to be pretty good runner, but he won't be a miler either.
Ryun and Liquori were seventeen when they went sub-4. I'm not seeing anybody who reminds me of them. Wish Reed Brown the best but I'm not getting excited about a "miler" with a 1:53.41 800m PB.
Uber-milers my ass.
i think fishers run around 354 for the mile

Shout out to my Utah peeps!
Btw Clinger has no shot at breaking 4.
Wow, not even the fastest guy from his own HS.
4:04 is exactly the pace of his 4:02 1600m. I guess he's consistent, at least.

Why are you transgenders so petty?
Honestly, does anyone even care about a sub 4:00 anymore? Kenny doesn't.

Not much to add,
If we looked up the dictionary definition of someone talking out his a$$ . . .
the fact that 5 out of 10 sub-4 min HS milers have happened in the last 2 years is a product of
1. l-carnitine
2. EPO
use at the HS level. Period.

Don't forget Vitamin D.

No, no he hasn't. Sean McGorty has run 3:53, also at Stanford. Sean Mcgorty is not Grant Fisher. He ran 4:04 in high school, and did not win Footlocker. Fisher has only broken 4 once, and has never run faster than 3:42 for the 1500. Which is a really funny statistic, considering Fisher has certainly improved by leaps and bounds since he broke 4 the once.

L-Carnitine is not a performance enhancing drug. It's literally a legal supplement. You could get it at your local convenience store. It's not banned by any high school state association, the NCAA, USADA, or WADA.
EPO is really hard to get for a high schooler and unless taken with a doctor's help. You die if you do too much of it. Unless a spate of sub-9 high school boys died randomly of heart attacks (and they haven't), we can safely assume that they aren't using EPO.
Perhaps they're training harder and smarter? What a crazy thought.
they are obtaining l-carnitine IV - it is very easy.
equally easy is EPO, you can get from pharmacies with doctor's rx. obtaining EPO is a common practice in Texas for xcountry athletes, they obtain it before counties, states.
you can also get both online.
grant fisher only broke 4 mins once in HS and hasnt since bc of drug testing.
most of these runners dont achieve better than their HS times bc they are on PEDs

Pretty amazing that a sub 4 high school miler is not a state champion in the event, having lost to a kid who was doubling back in the 1600. High school distance running is at a great level right now.

what's all this L-carnitine hype? Is it banned or something? You can buy l-carnitine supps online from any health/fitness vendor

I'm starting my 50 mL infusions soon. Does that make me grey zone?

So you would only claim to know this is "common practice" if you were somehow "in the know" in Texas distance running. Which you clearly are not considering there is no "counties" in Texas. It goes district, area, regionals, state.
You tried!

I don't take l-carnitine, but I do take Vitamin D AND Vitamin E...sometimes at the same time. Does that make me a super-doping bad-a$$?

That depends. Does your coach go by A. Salazar?

You are half right... They are training harder. This is why they will not accomplish anything beyond high school.
Running 3:53 in high school is indicative of superior talent and a great future. Running 3:59 is just training balls to wall.
