There is no such thing as talent for durability. Anyone without serious disabilities can handle 100+mpw. It's all about motivation and commitment.
That's stupid. There are some great runners (4 min milers in fact) who tried over and over to do high mileage and biomechanically couldn't handle it. Injuries always resulted.
Handling high workloads is a talent. I've run 75,000 miles. Many, many times I've tried 100 mile weeks and always broke down. 80 mile weeks no problem, but going higher was living on a razor's edge. Biomechanical flaws come startlingly to light when you get that high. If you can handle 100+ weeks, thank God for building you with great efficiency and durability.
