Kamwo unfortunately runs like a puussy in international track races
last year early season was undoubtedly his peak with that 59-flat after tripping at the start, charging off to catch leaders within ~ 1/2 - 3/4 mile, all done in worst conditions ever seen in a major race in living memory !!!
i have no doubt that day, in a smooth, paced to 5k only as requisite for 10k, on temperate 0 wind day in zurich, he wouda run
~ 26-flat
he suffered bad illness/injury by trials & as consequence ran rubbish in rio
it was posted here on BB that his coach reckoned he was in
~ 3'31
( i coudn't find it, maybe someone can )
shape last year or before that, which i 100% agree
his line of fit in cardiff i reckon was ~
52.0 / 1'48.5
->
3'31.09
4'46.12
7'19.05 !!!
12'32.48 !!!
26'01.22 !!!
if he had his alleged 3'31 speed in cardiff he couda clipped the 3k WR & utterly crushed the 5 & 10k wrs
he ran the 5k last year in eugene & ran like a total puussy, just nudging slow pace at 3k to the bell & hammered as expected by that runt ethiopian with whippy legs
all i can assume was that he ran eugene as non-serious event, not breaking training & just running it as a tempo run for rio 10k
that was disrespectful & he got beat as he deserved off no serious push at 3k
i can't believe after injury/pneumonia since then he is in anywhere close to that shape despite retaining x-country gold
bottom line :
look at above estimates for a good few minutes
think, ruminate, cognitate & then do so again over those estimates
you shoud spend a good 5 or 10 minutes looking at those numbers & keep thinking "how the fuuck of that rubbish 400 & 800" until it sinks in :
not much basic 400 speed & his 800 is crap as well, but the magnitude of the 400/800 ratio meant his ability progressively increased from 2k to utterly incredible for 3k/5k/10k !!!
scoff as is your warrant...
