hard to say, but if Erik Zabel were to get nailed, and he was claiming along the same lines as TH and there was lots of "strange" things related to his case, yes, I think I might have similar feelings. Zabel, like Hamilton, has a very similar reputation. We just don't hear as much of it in the states as you do in Europe.but like i said, there is a great deal of evidence, hard and circumstantial, that does point to his guilt....just lots of "grey" issues as well that don't add up.

I don't know one way or another whether he cheated, just as I don't really know if anyone who doesn't confess actually cheated. What I won't do is give them the benefit of the doubt because they're more like me (white, American, etc.). Now I can understand backing him if you knew him really well, but otherwise...
I just find it funny that most of us will generally admit that endurance sports (and most others) are riddled with drug users, and get frustrated that the cheaters are getting away with it, but that we often continue to believe in an athlete's innocence after they get busted.
Or you guys are completely right...could be.
