Yes. He was going from the Tibet side. That side has fewer climbers and I'm not sure but I think also no fixed ropes.
It would be strange if he didn't have a GPS track because in the past he had tracks. On Mont Blanc and Denali. You can look these up and they are impressive. He is sponsored by Suunto. He could have at least brought a GoPro.
And I don't think he would dope. At least I think taking something like EPO would make the blood thicker an be that would be dangerous. But I think more dangerous would be that it would mess up your ability to really gauge your body and how it's reacting to altitude. I think that he does use an attitude rent though.
