I know lots of Chick Fil A employees at all levels of the business. I was also recruited to come work at their corporate headquarters. It was tempting as everyone tells me how it's a great place to work. I was told they even take a group to run a marathon each year. The campus has really nice trails to run during lunch hour. Lunch is free and delicious. Not fast food unless you want it.
I am a committed Christian but I'm probably more liberal than most who work there. So I'm not sure if I would fit in. But the reason I didn't pursue it further just had to do with my current job that lets me work at home.
The main reason they are so much better than other fast food chains is because they never went public. The Cathy family could have sold out years ago and be 10x as rich as they are today. They'd rather keep the company private so they can continue treat their customers and employees well.
Also, Chick-Fil-A is consistently ranked as by far the healthiest of the major fast food franchises.
It used to be that nobody was allowed to own more than one franchise. They wanted the owner to be personally involved at each location. I think they have relaxed that requirement.
As I understand it, you won't get terribly rich owning a franchise or two. But you'll get Sundays off and you'll know that you are providing a service you can be proud of.
Come to think of it, I ate there today. Our food took a little longer than usual to come out, so they gave me a couple of coupons for free sandwiches. I've never had that experience at any other fast food joint.
