There are definitely teams and contracts that have rules about dating team members; however, human nature being human nature, the rule is sometimes violated. Whenever you see married athletes, they usually met while being team members. If you assume college athletes are adults, intersquad dating on most teams at the very least is discouraged. Intersquad relationship drama can be performance disenhancing, bad for team dynamics and can result in pregnancies.
Any college relationship has the potential for performance disenhancing. While men and women may technically be on the same team, they aren't teammates in the sense that their performances depend on each other. Any rule barring teammates from dating is asinine and likely to be circumvented anyways

Caz is dating a girl on the team, the coach told caz to end it because he didn't want any potential breakup drama, caz refused so he left the club. End of story
Ummmmmm, wouldn't ending it cause the break up drama they wanted to avoid?
I think I'd say- you better stay together and be happy- end of story.
9 pages of dribble and we still have no idea why he left the team. Drugs have been ruled out thanks to Letsrun. If I'm Brooks or Cas I'd come out with it. The Streisand Effect is going to kick in soon and by page 17-18 I predict we have a verified answer.

All conjecture and rumors. No verified pictures, posts, comments from other pros, Cas, Brooks, old teammates or language verifying those rules, etc. I'd guess the reason has been posted but it hasn't been verified.

well, that'll never happen
You people are ignoring the truth. he left the team due to the drama involving the farting situation.
You heard it here first. (When someone says this, it means it's true and hasn't been released in the media yet)
lol at the farting poster and lol at the poster that defined OPP. Good thread. Keep it going.
It's drivel not dribble moran

Well that is my criticism and why the thread has to continue. If Cas and Brooks want us to be interested in (him) their athletes and (his) their brand there should be some transparency. We're all hypocrites if there is no more follow up. Any time a high profile athlete fights with Nike or leaves Alberto's group we get articles by Ken Goe, rabid Nike haters, and tons of mysterious twitter and instagram posts by other pros weighing in. So far we only have anonymous, unsourced message board posts about farts.

If you know him you are not surprised. He was [lucky to be] dating teammate Jess but had an[other] affair. Moral and ethics issue with Brooks~ the woman he had an affair with is high up in Brooks and happens to also be married. It is a sad but true show of character > they don't want someone like that representing their brand. It's going to be a hard road finding a sponsor.
Someone already posted the reason ^^^ but people keep saying that it's because he was dating Jess. Yes he was dating Jess but that's not why he was kicked off the team. Your answer is ^^^

Learned something new - I'm pretty much wrong, but I could make an argument that I was using the small, unsteady stream of dribble definition.

Tht would be nuts.
He sent a world record indoors; how could he have been cut. That being said, it would show Brooks Beasts are no longer just the nice guys in sponsorship. Tough like Nike.
He set a record in an event that doesn't matter, a race nobody runs or watches.
Man up and do something in the 800 where the big boys play.
This entire saga of slowly emerging details has been interesting. As a one-time track insider there are several points that stand out:
1. while the actual truth regarding Cas' misstep may never come to light, there is no way it was as simple as a violation of informal team guidelines; athletes of his pay grade and potential do not get dropped without cause
2. relatedly, the apparent fact that Danny Mackey continues to coach Cas seems an odd straddle for a coach that receives his pay from the brand (Brooks) while also being allowed to moonlight with athletes from competing brands, and now one that has been fired by Brooks
3. without doing any running tallies, the fact that The Beasts have yet to launch an Olympian, or even come close, stands as a fundamental failure; placing athletes on world major (Oly and WC teams) remains the bottom line for professional groups
4. the team atmosphere of The Beasts sounds like it is murky and filled with drama; what a waste of resources and talent; there are pros that fail in many settings, but the lack of sustained performance and ensuing disappearance/exit of athletes like Loxsom, Felnagle, Bizzarri, Tebo, Cheever, Symmonds, Malasarte, etc is a growing list of carnage
5. last year The Beasts contracted Jon Pierce as an in-house physiotherapist; where did he disappear to and why?
6. track is a niche sport, but if the sport ever hopes to arrive at mainstream acceptance then coverage of personnel matters and clubhouse culture will have to become part of public discourse; you can't reserve the right to bury embarrassing behavior and then clamor for attention when things go well
Hi Paul Mosher or Simon Bairu,Did Mr. Capriotti make you work late at the Nike offices on this fine Friday or did it take both of you ALL day to come up with 6 untruthful points?
The most embarassing thing for the Beasts in the Trials last year was getting chicked by Oiselle, and even more miniscule outfit.
Cas should come back to New England and train with the Hoka Guys.
Indeed...even freaking OISELLE put one of their athletes on the US Olympic track team last year.
And please remind me how many Brooks athletes made the Olympic team on the track (and don't give me Des Linden as an answer)?
Didn't the Beasts have an unregistered physiotherapist or massage therapist last year? I thought there was a thread about that.
