Quite accurate guesses I'd say.

12! Surprising considering the last 100 was with a very fast rolling start.
He still looked amazingly smooth for a 400 finish, Merrit et al, not so much.
This was discussed after the race last year. His last 100m was about 12.0 meaning he split about 31.0 for 300m. It's actually not that hard to believe. Each 100m you should be getting slower. A lot of the 400m is about who dies the least. Honestly, if WVN wants the 300m WR, it's his. And to those who think he could run a fast 800m, this is basically proof he wouldn't be able to. He's a true sprinter. He ran his last 100m in 12.0 after running an average of 10.33 the first 3 100's. He could maybe pop off a 58 high - 59 low second 500m in top shape, but that's it. 600m and he bombs.
I'd bet 58 flat or better-500- (11.1/10.9)22 at 200 -(11.5-12.0) 23.5, 45.5 at 400, 12.5 last 100 = 58.0 He is capable of 19.5 for 200. 300 in 33.5 would be easy for him and just another 200 in 24.5. His last 50 would be brutal but he could get the 600WR Would require a few months of additional workouts specific to 600m. Maybe comes through around 46 flat and 26 from 4-600. 12.5, 13.5 - A low 1:12 for a WR.

The interesting thing is how much 2nd and 3rd died - 12.6 and 12.7 last 100 and they went sub 44

It always sounds so easy on paper, doesn't it...
