I'm running a 5k on a track in a couple weeks and I want to break 18, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to.
I'm running a 3200 this week. what would be a good time to set me up to break 18? I was thinking around 11:10 or sure but I'm not sure

Depends on the course, I went well under 36 for a 10k recently and I ran 10:55 a month for the 3200, so under 11:10 sounds good

that's what daniels has for the equivalent.

Well under 36 for 10k is significantly better than a 10:55 200
its on a track, sorry i thought i wrote that
bump
If you can break 11:00 in the 3200m then you stand a great shot. Over that and it starts to get dicey quickly.
When I was running high 17s 5ks, I consistently was at 11:20-11:25 for workout 2 mile time trials.
10:45 -50 gives you a great shot.
