Dani Jones will win the 1500 outdoors.
Gilbert is going to try and push the pace and grind as much as he can out of Cheserek, but I still see this as a battle between Knight and Ches for the kick. Might be wrong is Gilbert pushes it hard though.

It was hard for me to tell on WatchESPN. I think Piazza might get DQ'd for putting his arm out on Harris. I wasn't sure if Piazza impeded Harris, or if Piazza was just protecting himself from getting cut off by Harris.
I agree it was hard to tell. It looked to me that Harris was cutting in when he wasn't clear and Piazza threw his arm up, But Piazza's arm may have gone out into lane 2, in which case he'd be at fault.
And I was right, Saruni DQd!
It'd be a damn shame to DQ either Harris or Piazza. The physicality of indoors is what makes it exciting. Over officiating is the last thing we need. Knowing a lot of these coaches though they'll protest on absolutely anything anytime.
Ches feel'in his oats!
Knight ran out of room. Even before Cheserek eased up, Knight started gaining with 50 left but didn't leave himself enough room to catch him. Great moves from Scott, Gilbert got dropped like I thought once the kicks happened. Great performances by all of them though.
Gilbert in front, 32, klecker, gtown, matinee. Knight ches, and saarel in back.
66.2
2:13- Gilbert, corcon, ches, Knight, Scott, pack
3:20- Gilbert, dressel and klecker move up, maton moves to lead at 1400
Maton 4:24- ches, Gil, Knight, klecker
Ches goes past maton at 1800, Gilbert and Knight go with-it 5:26 2k- maton gone
800 to go 5:56, ches throwing it down, Gilbert there, Knight moving to 2nd.
6:28, ches, Knight
6:58 ches, Knight, Scott, Gilbert
7:28, ches goes, Knight tries to stick, almost gets him, ches wins 7:55, Knight, Scott, klecker, Gilbert.
Ches looked locked up but held on. Interesting to see him lead early. Lots of 30 sec laps.
Great rebound for Ches and great race!
But not too suprising Dwight Stones blew the call. Acting like Ches destroyed Knight and put the race away in a a second.
In reality Ches got a couple steps and Knight closed to within a stride at the finish
What's up with him adjusting his jersey pointlessly so often? Also his arm swinging on the last lap reminded me of Wilfred Bungwei in the 2004 Athens 800m final...love to see the greats working so hard their form slips

I'm not one to call for extreme officiating, but someone had to go in that 800 with all of the banging that took place, including people getting sent off the track.
Ches' last mile once he started pushing the pace
3:54.08 [31.82] 4:25.14 [31.07] 4:55.73 [30.60] 5:25.87 [30.14] 5:56.43 [30.56] 6:26.81 [30.39] 6:58.19 [31.38] 7:28.93 [30.74] 7:55.91 [26.99]
I hate seeing DQs but I think DQing Saruni was the right call in the men's 8. He tried to make a huge move to pass on the inside where he didn't have room, caused a collision, and forced other runners to lose momentum probably affecting the outcome.
CRAZY finish for the 4x400! Rogers almost takes down the leaders but it took a collegiate record to beat Oregon
It looked like the officialsame kind of screwed over some on the women's 4x4 teams by lining up the exchanges in the wrong order....
The mens team title is coming down to the 4x400...crazy. Going with TAMU here. Easy
They really need to stop saying "So-and-so was supposed to be the leadoff, but I guess he is here." This has happened like 10 times. You just clearly didn't get the right order on whatever sheet you're reading off.
Fastest split out of the first two heats is 44.98 by Iowa's anchor
Kerley lead leg in 45.08. This race is crazy
