Who are the most recognizable professional runners?
This doesn't necessarily mean the biggest names. I'm thinking more about distinguished looks or attire. E.g. Alysia Montaño always rocks the flower in her hair.
In a bit of shameless self-promotion, I tried to come up with who I thought were the top 30 most recognizable runners. Let me know if I missed any.

Also, no women professional runners look recognizable. They just dont look intimidating due to their small size. -

I think there is a difference between recognizable runners, as in I see them in street clothes and know who they are, and recognizable moments. I would walk past Tommie Smith and John Carlos 100 times without being non-the-wiser, but show me a poster of their salute and I would be able identify the moment, but not their names.
I would add Lolo Jones, Micheal Johnson, Gabe Jennings (espcially if I saw his running form), and Marion Jones. -

US laypeople - Bolt. That's it.

I read an interview with Michael Johnson once where he said that was a good thing- he was unrecognized in the US and could live a normal life.
If he wanted a dose of stardom he could just go to Europe. -

Among people who follow running at all, Evan Jager and Shalane Flanagan both have very distinctive looks in addition to being extremely accomplished athletes.
