Thanks for this post, Rojo. In matters like this, it's always worthwhile to play the 'vice versa' game. If this news were released about a runner like Ben True, say, or Ryan Hill, I think people would rightly scoff that it wasn't really indicative of anything one way or the other.
I think it's important to emphasize that a 'suspicious' profile is not an indictment, just reason for further investigation. 'Suspicious' does not mean 'dirty.'
It's also worth emphasizing that variations in things like T/E ratios and hemoglobin, in any athlete, are far from abnormal. Obviously there are ranges for what is deemed 'normal,' but the reason those ranges exist is in part to account for the chemical variations that any human body necessarily experiences over the course of intense training (especially intense training at altitude).
